Description
Our tinned sardines come from the Galician rias and are caught at the time of year when they naturally contain a higher proportion of fat, using traditional and sustainable fishing methods. Each tin contains between 3 and 4 sardines.
The fresh fish is prepared by hand, with the head and tail carefully removed. After a brine bath, the sardines are steam-cooked and packed with precision. The finishing touch is our organic extra virgin olive oil*, which complements the fish without overpowering its natural flavour.
Maturing time matters: it can take anywhere from a few months to several years for the flavour to fully develop as the oil penetrates the fish.
Tinned sardines contain a high concentration of vitamin B12, together with vitamins A, D, K and E, and are a source of protein, sodium, phosphorus, iodine and calcium, rich in omega-3 fatty acids and oleic acid.
Organic*: We use organic extra virgin olive oil to ensure that the olives have been grown with a strong commitment to environmental care. Email calidad@conservasriasbaixas.com with the batch number for a copy of the organic olive oil certificate used for your tin.
